New Energy Apprentice Support Payment

The New Energy Apprentice Support Payment provides direct financial assistance to Australian Apprentices in the clean energy sector. A full-time Australian Apprentice can receive a payment of $2,000 at 6,12, 24 and 36 months and completion; a part-time Australian Apprentice can receive $1,000. This payment is to help meet the cost-of-living pressures and to stay in training.

Eligibility requirements include:

  • all primary eligibility requirements
  • both the employer and Australian Apprentice complete a signed declaration
  • be undertaking a Certificate III or above qualification and in an occupation identified as a clean energy on the Australian Apprenticeships Priority List

For Employers!

Priority Wage Subsidy 10% of wages paid to the Australian Apprentice for first and second 12-month period (up to $1,500 per quarter)
5% of wages paid to the Australian Apprentice for the third 12-month period (up to $750 per quarter) A wage subsidy for employers of Australian Apprentices undertaking a qualification and occupation as listed on the Australian Apprenticeships Priority List.
