Superior Training Centre has been approved to deliver the Trade Pathways for Experienced Workers Program TPEW for Electrotechnology Electrician, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, and Engineering Metal Fabrication. To increase the number of qualified tradespeople in NSW and address labour and skills shortages, the NSW Government introduced the Trade Pathways Program, who are targeting partially skilled workers, mature aged workers and women who have not been attracted to previous opportunities in gaining trade skills. STC will assess each student to give recognition of prior learning (RPL) for skills and arrange gap training.
As a pre-requisite, students must meet all the following criteria:
be aged 21 years or older at the time of enrolment; and
have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the trade that they will be
undertaking training in; and
be currently working in the industry associated with the qualification being
undertaken, or have worked in the industry within the last five years; and
if undertaking an engineering qualification, must currently be working in the qualification area
being undertaken; and
not be a current apprentice or trainee; or if a cancelled apprentice, cancellation
must be greater than 6 months; and
not be enrolled in any related Smart and Skilled subsidised training; and
assessed as capable of a minimum three (3) Units as an RPL outcome; and
no longer be at school; and
be living or working in NSW; and
be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or
New Zealand citizen
