Next Generation Tradies – Event at Campbelltown

Without more investment in training new and existing workers Australia faces a massive skills shortage. Employers need to work closely with government, schools, and training providers on solutions to reach the students of today to get them to be the tradies of tomorrow. Without buy in from all employers the system does not work.

Superior Training Centre (RTO 4112) and Campbelltown City Council are providing a forum to hear about employer’s experiences and to bring State Government Training Services, Apprentice Support Providers, TAFE, and schools together to talk about the issues, new incentives for employers and apprentices, and how we can get better prepare students. Also, there are pathways for existing workers to upskill and qualify.

• What are the incentives for new apprentices and existing workers right now? – hear from the experts.

• How do we retain apprentices and workers? – look at some best practice models.

• Trade Pathways for Existing Workers (TPEW) – new incentives for employers and workers.

• What skills do we need to teach students in high schools that would assist employers?

• Can we improve school-based apprenticeships?
