The STC Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs Pre Apprenticeship program started today with two schools, Punchbowl Boys High School and Dunlea Centre, Engadine. The students will do 3 units of competency that includes safety and some ‘hands on’ units to get them familiar with trades courses. During the training there will also be mentoring around the pros and cons of what trades careers offer. Further projects will be started to incorporate the training. Two of STC’s top trainers Tim Shanahan and Antonis Siamas are leading this important pilot program to bring trades vocational education and training (TVET) into the classroom. This program is funded by the NSW Government.
